For the past 8 years, these pit masters have been perfecting that tried and true BBQ form, cooking all meats low and slow over a variety of woods to bring out unique, smoky tenderness in every bite. Must tries: Pastrami, Brisket, Sticky Toffee Pudding.Smoke Stack's House of BBQ has been smoking the competition in the food truck scene in Washington, DC, offering the greatest BBQ to sink your teeth into. Overall a great restaurant, but some areas were not quite up to the standard as others, I would definitely go back, but avoid certain items. The Sticky Toffee pudding was incredibly good and should not be missed. The sides were good, with the Charred Greens being the standout and the fries lacking anything special and the garlic sauce being OK at best. I really wished they provided more sauce (or a bottle) for the table as the portion they put on the plate is no way near enough. The main meat was all excellent, but not quite at the level of some of the best BBQ we have tasted. The Potato Skins were OK, but lacked any depth or complexity of flavour and felt like it needed something else to enhance it. The pig tails were quite vile tasting and were ultimately left by all of us on the table after only a few bites. Unfortunately some other courses, namely the Pig Tails, Potato Skins and Fries missed the mark. The food on the whole was great, with the Pastrami being the single nicest dish I have eaten this year. The food order took a little longer but was nothing to complain about. Our drinks order was taken quickly and they arrived soon after. by a great member of staff who quickly found us a table for one extra after our original plans changed.Īll the staff were excellent, besides one lady who clearly didn't want to be there. Chunky wood and metal everywhere with a lovely smoke smell emanating from the front of the restaurant. The setting and décor is excellent - exactly what you want from a good BBQ restaurant. We visited here last night for an evening meal. What the surprise was was the bill, £115, super reasonable…Ī massive thx to patrik & the Italian waitress/supervisor for making our evening special… More A side of fries and the lovely watermelon & tomato salad was great and refreshing for my rib… My wife had rotisserie chicken and me the dry aged beef rib, the chicken was extremely succulent, where mine was sticky, ( kept bone for dog ). We started on a couple of flat breads with toppings of crispy beef fat & spring onion & dry-aged beef with chimichurri… both very tasty as was the cubes of crispy ox-cheek…. Our waiter Patrik was very attentive and knowledgeable throughout our meal… Asked if we’d been here before ’no’ he guided us through the menu, which was very helpful… The restaurant looked extremely busy with people out on the terrace and enclosed Veranda dining… Thankfully we had a table booked & was sitting inside main part of the restaurant…. was a queue at the door, which in some ways was annoying but otherways a good sign. We hadn’t been out for a while, and wanted to try something different from the norm, so decided here Smokestak… Firstly had drinks at a couple of local cocktail bars nearby which were nice cubbyhole style bars… Then came for dinner at 7:30pm, There.
